How about a rating system?

Well I was thinking I about having some sort of rating system here perhaps something similar to ELO which DN uses and it is also used irl. With a rating system people may want their ratings to increase so they may choose to duel more and be more active on this place. If people want I can say how a rating system could work but most people may already know how it works or how it could work.

Could work, and it's easy to do, however I'm not sure how useful this might be.

Unless we make certain events for it. It's all up to ideas and planning. If you've got a good idea as to what rating could be useful for, then share with us please.

Well rating can be used for a variety of things really. I mean DN uses it for rankings. With rankings you can easily see where you are. At the end of each format the top duelists could be given some sort of prize or something. That way more people would be encouraged to start duelin' for DP or we can just have a new 'Rated' duels. The person with the highest rating could become like the 'champion' or 'duelist of the format' or something like that. It also shows members where they stand and if they can get into a higher dorm or something like that.

Perhaps when a rated duel is posted the person changes the two duelists ratings according to the system like how a moderator or administrator here awards DP.

Yes that is true but then the final decision is with the administrators perhaps a poll?

It could cause isolation and reluctance to duel because its like "oh your rating is 10x better than me so you'll defiantly win, why would I want to duel someone when I have no chance to win."

Also isolation in the sense that the higher ranked would shun the lower ranked.

You raise a fair point Devon. Hmm we can use it for academy tournaments then perhaps. Instead of just having the usual SE or Swiss we can use ELO to decide things.

You also have too take in consideration that DN also has over 7000+ registered duelist on as well. in a week we may have over 20, of the same registers. So it would be monotonous dueling the same guys even in a tournament? Wouldn't you think?
