XWL #1 (Xenon Weekly Locals) Sign-Ups WCQ2013-DD_mat
Rules

  • Tournament starts every Saturday 12:00 PM EST. It is a live local, so try to stay on as much as possible. 

  • 16 player tournament (for the 1st time to see how much incentive it is for people to want to join)
  • TCG/OCG (With TCG Ban list)
  • 1 Deck allowed, (which must be pmd to 1 judge, or host to participate : on the day before the tournament Friday)
  • All games are played on DN (Dueling Network), unless both players agree to play on another dueling system.
  • Wins must be pmd to the host, with screenshots.
  • Watchers pass must be set for every swiss round you do, and pmd to judges ONLY, so people can't watch your duel, and get a sense of what deck you are running.



Bracket + Swiss Round


  • 16 players = 4 rounds of swiss + top 2 face-off at an unknown table/set
  • 24 players = 4 rounds of swiss + top 4 single elimination tourney
  • 32 players = 4 rounds of + top 8 single elimination tourney



Disputes + Judges

XWL each week will at least have a host and 2-3 judges for disputes in game, and issues with rulings during each match. To make this more of a real life feeling, you may not "look up rulings & or ask a DN admin/another person for the answer to a dispute in game". The Judges assigned are allowed to settle disputes (this allows people in the XDA community/judges to get better in ruling knowledge and judgment calls). KDE Tournament policies and rules will be used in this tournament.



Prizes (TBP)

Prizes will most likely be userbars with achievements on them, and maybe DN prizes later on. I haven't figured out coding and such to do ELO/leaderboard ranking yet, so that is still being worked on.

Yes XD, because judges are allowed to spectate duels. Participants can't spectate any duels.

Judge/Ruling Experience: Well...I scored a 15/20 on my most recent DN ruling admin test...I aced our own ruling test with a 9/10 (coulda gotten a full score but I got lazy and made a dumb mistake), and I've been playing this for around 3 years now.
Why should you be judge?: I'm Thought. I'm just awesome like that. I know the game, I know the rulings, and I'll be interested in watching other people fail duel...

No. I have zero reasons to join, given that I have 4000 DP with nothing to use it for, the fact that I've participated in every other major tournament for the past 3 months, and all fun dueling used to have for me has been sapped out. I want to try something new.

Make me a judge or don't, it's your call, but I'm not joining as a contestant.
