I like these tutorials but could you explain some of the "basic" photoshop knowledge first,like whats a c4d , whats duplicating etc etc etc

Duplicating means duplicating the layer.
C4D stands for Cinema 4D, and is a program made by Maxon used for creating 3D images. When somebody using Photoshop talks about it however, they're usually referring to any abstract 3D render. They're very useful when it comes to giving depth to sig's and other such things.

I recommend Kimo Force's tutorial because unlike deviantart's tutorials, Kimo puts work into showing each individual importance to each part of a signurature, not to mention different styles you can approach. He sure helped me with my sigs ^^.
