What is Overpowered?

on Chatbox there seems to be a debate on what is to be considered OP, post your thoughts below and try and keep it civilized as you can.

Do not simply bash someone's opinions as they are in fact OPINIONs and should not be considered wrong on something as loosely used as this.

I'll write a big-**** reply later but here's a small reminder:

Something OP is something consistent and goes well with other cards.

Overpowered cards are cards that can change/win you games on their own, without needing other cards that are hard to bring out/insane conditions in order for the effect to work. Example? Sixth Sense, Heavy Storm, Giant Trunade, Crush Card Virus, etc.

The most general definition I can give is:
A card that can change or win you a duel on it's own without excessively hard conditions needed in order for it to be used.

But then again, what is broken: the card(s) needed for the "Overpowered" card to work, or the card itself?
It depends on the case: for example, Big Eye. It came out WAYYYYY before Elemental Dragons/Dragon Rulers came out, and it was really hard to summon because it needed 2 level 7 Monsters, which were hard to get on the field before. Then Dragons came, and Big Eye started being OP because summoning it was a joke. But are we sure Big Eye is the card at fault? It's not: the fact that you can bring out Lv 7 2800 beaters for practically no cost out of nowhere is what makes it broken. Then again, we have cards like Crush Card Virus. You could tribute a Spirit Reaper for it, but is Spirit Reaper overpowered or broken? No it isn't...

TL;DR My point: whether a card is Overpowered or not depends on the card itself.

Overpowered can also mean anything overpowered. DUH!!!!!! So a deck can be overpowered too, or just some group of spells and traps like lightsworn spells and traps, just an example. So yeah its basically what other people said. I just wanted to say that it is not only the card it can be decks or specific spells and traps. Phew, no need to argue about that. Lolz.
