Artifact Discussion I

mm I'm too lazy to make some guide or anything, but I figured Artifacts might become super popular soon and they're highly fun to play. There's a few ways to play them so why not just discuss strategies and stuff, help people stop misplaying or learn new techs.

I played them and they're boring.

Yeah, they were fun for the first 5 minutes, then Sylvans got a draw power. Artifacts are slow and easily countered.

Meh Light monsters are my specialty, so I find most of the light archetypes fun to play (Exception is Reptile Worms, they can leave imo).

my artifacts are a destruction spam of my own full backrow (usually 3/4 artifacts set and 2 destruction spell/traps)

Prince if you want to summon beelze in artifact then play birdman and not gale

I prefer gale, birdman won't contribute to an OTK. gale's broken-**** self does.

where is this "slow" talk from. like what do you guys even smoke to get that retarded. 2 rank 5s, sometimes 3 in a turn into an otk is slow?

They have to be a bit faster, just because siding REALLY hurts them

it usually doesn't OTK, but the deck isn't slow

im 25-0. i srsly dont know what this "get sided hard against" thing is. more experience players right now will use cycle reader, I side IIW.

I have seen them a few times in action and I must say its sick watching them spam. honestly its a pretty cool deckin my opinion.

I think people are trying to point out multiple continuous cards that can hurt them, but they forget how easy it is for artifact to kill those cards with movement, catastrophe, MST, and double cyclone. There are only 3 cards I know of that hurts them a lot and those would cycle reader, forbidden graveyard, and breakthrough skill.

Idk about you but I find Sylvans more enjoyable because there is actual progress each turn instead of set 5 and go. Also theres no such thing as siding hard, every individual deck has a weakness of some kind and it just so happens Artifacts have plenty to have side against them. How much a person sides in depends on how paranoid they are.

Granted they have great backrow coverage, but (and I had this convo. with CG) the deck can be countered with Pachy, Jowgen, Vanity, so on and so forth if you don't have Monster field advantage. Get all the Gales, Star Drawings, Dark Holes, and Honests you want, I'm not going to be like "well what if I draw [insert card here]", no thats just ridiculous thinking. Again personally I woundn't play this deck, but if you're having fun with it then, golf claps for ya, don't be so offended about it.

Idk about you but I find Sylvans more enjoyable because there is actual progress each turn instead of set 5 and go. Also theres no such thing as siding hard, every individual deck has a weakness of some kind and it just so happens Artifacts have plenty to have side against them. How much a person sides in depends on how paranoid they are.

Granted they have great backrow coverage, but (and I had this convo. with CG) the deck can be countered with Pachy, Jowgen, Vanity, so on and so forth if you don't have Monster field advantage. and about jowgen and dyna those aren't too problematic it just forced you to do your thing early (in response to the summon)
the deck isn't too easy to side against, but its also hard to side when playing artifact.

if all else fails: shadow imprisoning, maxx c, veiler, IIW, prohibition/cloak and dagger.

Vanity Fiend not Emptiness and Devon gave a nice list of some others. Well even if youn respond to the Summon of Pachy Dyna with a Artifact card it wont really do anything and that Trap Artifact card only destroys if destroyed by an opponent's card effect im sure. All in all, its whatever you want really, if the deck works for you great, i just dont think its all that great.

I think I already stated that, but yeah, every deck depends on the player.

I received my first lost. I went 27-0 until the mirror match. He got so lucky Q~Q He end Phase Movement and MST'd my Theos and Movement so I kind of lost. That happened in game 3.

Artifacts are fun to play, but kinda slow. I would be glad if more draw support was added. Or even search support. People might be kinda mad if I said I added plaugrspreader zombie in to my artifact deck. I think it helps a bit with level 6-7 synchro support thanks to star drawing

if ur whining about it being slow and still using star drawing you arent playing very well

I am probably playing it wrong. I am not whining that it is too slow, It's just not as fast as I sort of felt like it should be. I added in Star Drawing and Plaguespeader to compensate for its speed. Its not THAT slow, nor it is exceptionally fast.

(Facepalm) That's a lot of draw support for Artifacts. Thanks for posting your build. I completely forgot about Card Car D being usable since you don't normal summon during your turn anyway. Actually, That looks pretty efficient to me. I do have one question though, what cards are used to counter Artifact? And how can Artifact handle the counter?
