Most complicated dispute
What's the most complicated ruling dispute you have ever been in or seen?
I'll post mine in a while, don't want to spoil the fun just yet.

Field Spell activation vs mst, even do mst doesnt NEGATE, your field spell doesnt activate even do it hits the field, I still dont get why but rules are rules are guess, # I still disagree with admin but whatever

It does activate, it just can't resolve properly because it works like a continuous spell/trap: it needs to remain face-up on the field in order to resolve it's effect.Legacy42 wrote:Field Spell activation vs mst, even do mst doesnt NEGATE, your field spell doesnt activate even do it hits the field, I still dont get why but rules are rules are guess, # I still disagree with admin but whatever
That's basic knowledge.

I can't really think of one atm, I mostly miss them because either don't pay attention or read well into the text.

Like, Kyonaru said, MST does not negate anything or will it ever, field spells need to fully resolve and/or stay on the field in order to maintain their effect like Continuous Spell/Trap Cards.

Geartown simply misses timing.Legacy42 wrote:Yeah but even geartown effect is not appiled, like I said I dont get it, nor will I ever agree, but rules are rules
The chain goes like this: Chain Link 1: Geartown, Chain Link 2: MST.
Resolve backwards, MST destroys geartown, then geartown resolves with no effect. Since geartown was destroyed mid chain, it can't activate it's effect, because card effects cannot be activated in the middle of a resolving chain.
That being said, it's still common knowledge: it works like this for Spellbook Tower too. Also you should google what missing the timing is if you don't know.

I left you a ruling you can read ._. have a ton of these and although I have to proofread some again, its still worth looking into. I try to keep it in laymans terms.Legacy42 wrote:Yeah but even geartown effect is not appiled, like I said I dont get it, nor will I ever agree, but rules are rules
Anyways If you're asking Geartown vs MST. Geartown's effect when it is destroyed misses timing because it was not the last thing to occur. Because you activated Geartown and your opponent chained Mystical Space Typhoon, it created a Chain Link. Chain Link 1 Geartown, Chain Link 2 Mystical Space Typhoon. When no more cards will or can be chained then all chains resolve backwards so itll look like this:
Chain Link 2: Mystical Space Typhoon
Chain Link 1: Geartown (spell activation)
Explanation:
Chain Link 2: Mystical Space Typhoon destroys Geartown - now at this point Geartown's effect to allow you to special summon should kick in but because it is an Optional Trigger Effect and not occurring during Chain Link 1 or at the same time as another effect, it misses timing.
Chain Link 1: Geartown's activation resolves without an effect.

I'll even leave you this.
